Alec Baldwin Is Busy Fulfilling Expectant Hilaria's Fruit Requests

Alec Baldwin Hilaria Baldwin Pregnancy Cravings
Mark Davis/WireImage

Fatherhood is nothing new to Alec Baldwin. But daddy duty later in life? Now that’s a whole new playing field.

Already dad to daughter Ireland, 17, the actor and his wife Hilaria are set to welcome their first child together this summer — and Baldwin is busy taking in the experience.

“Being around a woman when she’s pregnant and I’m older now — quite a bit older, actually — it’s just really … it’s amazing,” he joked with David Letterman Monday.

“Like my wife, the pregnant woman, the hormonally-charged woman if you will – uh, it’s thrilling. It’s a thrilling thing to observe.”

But the Orphans star, 54, isn’t just sitting back and taking it all in; The future father-of-two is doing his part to keep his yoga instructor wife relaxed, happy — and full!

“She’s been super fit her whole life and nutritionally very conscious. I’ll say to her, ‘You want to eat smart and keep up your nutritional values, but you gotta eat, you’re having a baby,’” he explains. “I’ll go, ‘Do you want me to go get you some pineapple?’ And she’ll be like, ‘I don’t know.’”

While Hilaria may be unsure of what she’s actually craving, Baldwin has been known to take matters into his own hands, heading out to the store to stock up on her favorite foods. And, as it turns out, his gut instinct that his pregnant wife could go for some fruit is typically proven true.

“There’s a container of pineapple that will probably serve four people. I put it on the counter [and] I go, ‘If you want some pineapple, here it is,’” he recalls of a recent episode.

“I go to the other room, I plug my phone in to charge it [and] sure enough I walk back — three quarters of the pineapple is gone and she’s like, ‘I was very hungry.’”

However, Hilaria is much more vocal when it comes to her constant bathroom breaks — or lack thereof. “My wife will be announcing, ‘I have to pee every five minutes, I can’t believe it!’ Then I’m like, ‘Well, we have four bathrooms in the apartment, so you’re covered. We got a bathroom in every quadrant of the house at the ready, clean and freshly papered and everything good to go,’” Baldwin jokes.

“And then the next day she’s like, ‘I don’t have to pee at all today. Something’s wrong!’ I’m getting whiplash here: pee, no pee…”

Family Creates Bucket List for Dying 9-Month-Old Daughter

03/01/2013 at 12:00 PM EST

Quinn Linzer and her parents, Brett and Eileen Linzer

A Long Island family, facing the prospect of the death of their 9-month-old daughter, has created a bucket list of sorts to maximize her brief life.

Quinn Linzer suffers from Neimann-Pick Disease Type A, which causes the brain and body to regress. The family learned of Quinn's disease when she was just 3 months old, with doctors saying she is not expected to live past her first birthday.

So her family created Quinn's List, which includes up to 50 experiences for the little Lynbrook, N.Y. resident to complete, reports Long Island's News 12.

Among them are a visit to FAO Schwarz, a trip to Disney, tea at New York's Plaza Hotel and time spent swimming with dolphins.

Fundraisers have been held, online and elsewhere, to help the family of five, including Quinn's two brothers, raise enough money to make some of the dreams come true.

Even as the family's doctor had encouraged the Linzers to take Quinn home and give her love, saying nothing more could be done for her, the family was inspired to give their daughter the fullest life possible. Mom Eileen Linzer shared photos of the family enjoying time together with Quinn on a blog she created, called Team Linzer.

As it says on Quinn's List, her family is on a "mission to give her as wonderFULL a life as we could possibly give her."

The years may have passed, but the talent remains for Oscar nominees who have been there, done that and continue to look good doing it.

Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro, Helen Hunt, Sally Field, Alan Arkin and Tommy Lee Jones aren't strangers to the Academy Awards – all have taken home Hollywood's ultimate prize. This year, they all took that familiar red carpet walk again – with flair, grace and style.

It's an accomplishment not lost on young Hollywood. When this year's Best Supporting Actress winner Anne Hathaway accepted her Oscar, she gave a special shout out to former winners Hunt and Field as well as fellow nominees Jacki Weaver and Amy Adams.

"I look up to you all so much and it's just been an honor," she said in her acceptance speech.

See more photos of Oscar nominees then and now in the new issue of PEOPLE – including a special gallery and photos of Ben Affleck, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jamie Foxx (with his all-grown-up daughter Corinne!) in PEOPLE's coverage of the red carpet, parties and more!

Josh Brolin and Diane Lane's Split Was 'Mutual,' Says James Brolin

02/27/2013 at 12:30 PM EST

James Brolin said his son Josh is doing fine in the wake of his impending divorce from Diane Lane, calling their split "mutual."

Brolin – who accompanied wife Barbra Streisand as she performed at the Oscars Sunday night – said his son, 45, was watching the Academy Awards show at a party with famed film directors the Coen brothers and his daughter.

"He's great," Brolin said. "You know, everything is mutual. It's all okay."

Josh Brolin and Lane, 48, were introduced by Streisand at a 2002 party and were married in 2004 at the actor's California ranch. They were separated for some time before Lane signed divorce papers on Valentine's Day, a source tells PEOPLE.

"This was a hard decision for both of them to make," added the source. "The relationship just ran its course."

James Brolin said his son, who had been married before to Alice Adair and who has two children, was coping well. "Evidently he's doing well," said James of Josh. "Everything is fine."

A friend of the actor-filmmaker's confirms to PEOPLE that following the Oscars ceremony Affleck, 40, shaved his beard at Craig's restaurant in Hollywood, – where wife Jennifer Garner and pal and Argo co-producer George Clooney were celebrating with him.

"The whole family was tired of [his] beard," says the friend.

Sure enough: "Jen brought clippers!" he added.

According to TMZ.com, the shave took place in the middle of the restaurant's hallway.

Jennifer Aniston Oscars gownJason Merritt/Getty

Need another reason to love Jennifer Aniston — and her elegant Oscars gown? Just wait until you hear why she picked it: “It fits, it’s comfortable and it’s easy to pee in,” the superstar joked to PEOPLE of her Valentino dress. “You just lift, hoist and do a couple squats!”

Can’t argue with that logic, but wait, there’s more! When fiancé Justin Theroux prompted her, “It’s Valentino red,” she agreed: “Yes, Valentino red! I just loved the color.” No wonder she loves the guy — he’s cute, funny and is well-versed in designers’ signature shades!

That vivid hue is also the reason PEOPLE StyleWatch editors admired Aniston’s dramatic, full-skirted gown. She normally favors neutral looks, so her striking scarlet dress was even more of a standout on a night that featured a lot of subdued shades.

Mindy McCready: A Country Star's Tragic Life and Death

Cover Story

02/23/2013 at 12:40 PM EST

Alone and adrift, Mindy McCready seemed to have little concept of time in the blurry month following the apparent suicide of her boyfriend, songwriter David Wilson, on Jan. 13 at the lakefront home they shared in quiet Heber Springs, Ark.

"She would call you at 2 in the morning and then would call you 20 minutes later and act like she hadn't spoken to you in a week," says a friend of the long-troubled country singer, who had left a court-ordered rehab facility after just one day on Feb. 7.

She didn't talk much about her two sons, 10-month-old Zayne and 6-year-old Zander – both boys had been placed in foster care when she was admitted for treatment – because the subject brought her to tears.

Upset over speculation about her role in Wilson's death, McCready had been spending her days sleeping and her nights drinking and was screaming "about everything," according to a Feb. 6 petition filed by her father, Tim, to have her committed to rehab. But even as her world imploded, McCready sounded resolutely hopeful after watching the Feb. 10 Grammy Awards. Recalls the friend: "She said, 'I'll be there next year. That's a promise.' "

But as with much of McCready's deeply tumultuous life, the moment of optimism was short-lived. Just five days later McCready, 37, was plunged into despair after being served with court papers proposing that her sons be sent to live with her long-estranged mother, Gayle Inge, in Florida.

"The most important thing are my babies must come home," she wrote in an e-mail on Feb. 16 to L.A. private investigator Danno Hanks, who stayed in touch with McCready after working with her during her 2010 stint on VH1's Celebrity Rehab. "She lost all hope," says Hanks. "She said, 'I'm losing my kids. I can't live without my kids!' "

At her request, Hanks had made a video advocating suicide prevention with the song "I'll See You Yesterday," in which she sings, "If tomorrow's gonna be the same/ I'll see you yesterday." Says Hanks: "Mindy told me that it was exactly what she wanted. Then I asked her if I could post it. And Mindy's answer was, 'You'll know when it's right.' "

The next day, McCready shot herself in the mouth on the porch of her home – the very same spot where Wilson, 34, had been found dead, according to a police source.

The suicide marked a brutal end for a singer who had once been among Nashville's brightest stars before a toxic spiral of reckless relationships, arrests, addiction and family fights played out publicly for nearly a decade.

Sean Lowe: Tierra Made Me Feel Like 'Such a Fool'

Sean Lowe and Tierra on The Bachelor

No regrets? Not so fast.

In his PEOPLE.com blog, The Bachelor's Sean Lowe has written about how he never saw Tierra LiCausi behaving badly – despite what the other women told him about the controversial contestant, who is now engaged.

But after watching, Sean realized the women were right.

"Man, I was such a fool," Sean, told host Chris Harrison on Sean Tells All special Tuesday night. "I really do feel like I was duped."

In fact, Sean, 28, who had an immediate connection with Tierra, says he never should have met her that first night.

"Tierra never should have come on this show. She's not suited for this show," he said. "She doesn't know how to handle herself in this environment. She's a woman who ... simply can't get along with her peers."

Not only did Tierra waste his time, Sean says, he witnessed her "getting into arguments and fights with the sweetest, best people in the house."

But no one may be more upset about Tierra than the women who was sent home instead of Tierra, Jackie Parr, on a two-on-one date in Montana.

I wouldn't have kept [Tierra]," Sean said on Tuesday's special. "I wish I would have kept Jackie on the two-on-one."

Chaz Bono: How I Lost 43 Lbs. - and Hope to Lose More

02/18/2013 at 01:00 PM EST

Chaz Bono, before and after losing weight

Courtesy CBS Television Distribution

Chaz Bono's 2013 has gotten off to a healthy start!

The former Dancing with the Stars contestant, 43, has already dropped 43 lbs. since announcing his public mission to lose 50 lbs. beginning in mid-November.

He's now upped his goal to dropping a total of 80 lbs.

"I've been sticking to a really strict diet," he tells PEOPLE. "It's not any type of starvation thing. I'm just cutting out a lot of stuff and eating primarily protein and vegetables and fruit."

Bono, who weighed 250 lbs. pre-diet, first addressed his goal publicly with Dr. Travis Stork on an episode of The Doctors, after being approached by the show to get help.

"That episode was the most uncomfortable I've ever been on television in my life," Bono admits. "I had been wanting to lose weight. It was something I had been trying to do and failing at. This opportunity just kind of came in, and my initial reaction was 'absolutely not.' And after that, the more I thought about it, I realized I've been wanting to deal with this issue and somebody's willing to help me do it, so I decided to throw my pride away and get help."

The initial weight-loss process actually wasn't too challenging. He shed the pounds with the help of exercise and the Freshology delivered-meal plan.

"It hasn't been that long, but when you're a guy and you've got a lot of weight to lose, the initial stuff comes off pretty easily," says Bono, who'll return to The Doctors Wednesday to show off his weight loss. (check local listings). "You start to see results and you want to keep going. It's not to say you don't have cravings sometimes, but I'm very happy with how I'm looking and feeling. Especially when I'm traveling or I have to go out to eat or whatever, it's actually kind of easier than I thought to [eat healthy], so that's been good."

But now, the pounds aren't coming off as easily.

A Challenging Plan

"It's getting harder," he explains. "I'm just kind of at a little plateau right now, which I think is pretty normal, according to my doctor. The weight was falling off at first, and now it's just coming off slower. The smaller you are, the harder it is to lose weight. The last 10 or 20 lbs. are really hard to get off. I would like to lose more than that. I'm still dropping, but I'm just not dropping like I was in the beginning, which was about 4 lbs. a week."

Despite the lull in his weight loss, Bono is continuing along strong with his journey.

"There haven't really been any bad parts to this so far, except certain stuff that I miss eating," he says. "But ultimately, I would much rather look and feel better than eat those things. Everything else has been really great. I feel better and when I look in the mirror, I like what I see better."

But when it comes to offering guidance to others going through the same thing, Bono will steer clear.

"I don't want to ever be that guy [to give advice]," he says. "I've struggled with weight my whole life. I don't ever want to be the guy to say, 'Just do this.' For me, it was finally getting to a place where I was willing to do whatever it took to deal with this. When you get to that point, then whatever way you choose to do it, it's going to work."

And Bono is adamant about keeping it off.

"I'm willing to kind of never eat the things I like again," he said with a laugh. "Never say never, and I know it happens a lot, but I really want to do everything I can to avoid gaining it back. I'm not going into it thinking I'm going to do that. I'm going into it thinking I'm too old to [expletive] around with that. I need to keep my weight down, moving forward, in order to be healthy."

Wow Readers were wowed by country singer Carrie Underwood's princess-style gown at the Grammy Awards, worn during her performance of "Blown Away." Not only was the silver gown stunning, it also provided a surprise light show, glowing with special effects that dazzled the audience with a visual surprise.

Angry Our readers joined the royal family in expressing outrage after photos were published of the Duchess of Cambridge wearing a bikini – and showing off her small baby bump – as she happily vacationed on the private island of Mustique last week with Prince William. The Bachelor: Sean's Hometown Date with Desiree Gets Interrupted - By an Ex?

The ex who pops back into the picture has been a common storyline in recent seasons of The Bachelor. And this season is no exception.

In this exclusive preview of Monday night's episode, Sean Lowe meets more of Desiree Hartsock's loved ones than he bargained for.

"As Des and I are getting dinner ready for her parents, I feel like we're a couple," says Sean. "And I'm excited for her family to get here because I want to meet these people."

Instead, the ex shows up at the door, asking if he and Des can talk. An awkward, you've-got-to-wonder-if-it's-scripted dialogue ensues. A sampling:

Sean: Whoa.

Ex: I've been texting, calling, where they hell have you been?

Des: [Gestures toward Sean] "I've been busy.

Ex: We're together for two years and all of a sudden, just nothing? I love you more than anything.

Sean: I'm thinking, 'Maybe I just need to leave.'

Ex: You're going to be with this actor? This isn't real.

Sean: First of all, I'm standing right here. You want to talk to me, talk to me ... [To Des]: Do you want to talk to him? [To Ex]: Then leave please.

Ex: Can you give us a minute?

Sean: Don't put your hands on me …

Slade Smiley hasn't put a ring on it – yet.

The reality TV personality's longtime girlfriend, Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi, was spotted at Heather McDonald's book launch at Hollywood's Emerson Theater on Wednesday night, sporting some bling on her engagement finger.

But apparently Smiley hasn't popped the question.

About two years ago, Rossi, 34, told PEOPLE she was in no rush to head to the altar with Smiley.

"When I first got married, I thought I was going to be married for life," she said. "I thought that was it and it was really hard to fail at that marriage."

But now, although the ring wasn't from him, the first source tells PEOPLE, "They're planning on getting engaged pretty soon."

Dear Jessica Chastain, We've Found Your Oscars Gown!

Jessica Chastain Oscar de la RentaKristina Bumphrey/Startraks; Inset: WireImage

As we pull together our Academy Awards gown predictions, we’ve had the hardest time picking one for Jessica Chastain. She’s gorgeous, talented and impossible to anticipate on the red carpet, not favoring any one designer or color, and we were stumped.

But the moment we watched this rich violet peplum number sashay down the Oscar de la Renta runway Tuesday night, we knew we’d found the perfect look for her big night on Feb. 24. First of all, the color was practically made to complement her fair complexion — and in a sea of nudes, blacks and reds, the vivid hue is sure to stand out.

It’s also a blend of fashion-forward and body-conscious, a combination the actress seems to favor. Finally, that neckline is just begging for some major diamond chandeliers or a beautiful diamond choker (by Harry Winston, of course — her go-to jeweler for big events).

Now that we’ve pictured it, we’ll be devastated if our wish doesn’t come true, so let’s just hope she’s an avid reader of the site. Tell us: Do you agree with our pick for Jessica Chastain’s Academy Awards gown? If not, what do you want to see her wear?
